Come out Saturday, June 29 to cheer on Dr. John Renucci and Dr. Douglas Vander Woude as they participate in the MSU Gran Fondo 80 mile ride! Look out for them in their Team TURO Skin/Founders Brewing Company uniforms! Proceeds from this non-competitive ride will benefit MSU Skin Cancer Research:
These dollars will fund pilot studies – investigative, next-step research that tests findings and enables a scientific study to continue. “Funding for pilot studies will allow us to explore new approaches to overcome drug resistance that is all too common in patients receiving treatment for advanced stages of melanoma,” said Brian Nickoloff, M.D., Ph.D, MSU’s lead principal investigator for melanoma research…Ultimately we are looking for ways to give patients and their families in our community better chances of long-term survival and a better quality of life.”
Team TURO Skin/Founders’ course will start and end at The B.O.B. in downtown Grand Rapids. Find the TURO Skin tent and say hello at the After Sparty at the B.O.B. 11-5p.m. Enjoy Michigan microbrews and wine sampling, tasty street food stations, and live music!
There is still time to register to ride as an individual in the 12, 40, or 80 mile courses! Or, if you’re interested in lending a helping hand, volunteers are needed the day of the event as well.
