Brachioplasty, or arm lift, is a surgical procedure that reshapes the under portion of the upper arm, from the underarm region to the elbow.  This procedure will reduce excess sagging skin that droops downward when the arm is extended away from the body and will tighten the underlying supportive tissue that defines the shape of the upper arm.

The Procedure

Liposuction:
Liposuction of the arms may be an option for you if your skin has enough elasticity to shrink around the remaining tissue once fat is removed. Liposuction can also be used to enhance the results of a brachioplasty procedure.

Brachioplasty (Arm Lift):
If your excess skin extends from the under arm to the elbow then a standard brachioplasty may be right for you. This procedure may include the removal of both the excess fat and loose, hanging skin.

Recovery

Following the procedure, patients may be asked to wear a compression garment to contour and support the healing tissues. The garment may be removed for showers as needed. There may be bruising and swelling of the areas of liposuction, but this will resolve within weeks. Details on the procedure and how to help the recovery process will be discussed at your cosmetic consultation.

• Clothes do not fit properly because of your heavy arms

• You feel self-conscious about your arms and want to restore your self-assurance

• You want a better, more proportional contour and a firmer look and feel

• You are willing to accept a scar in exchange for shapelier arms

• You are healthy and have realistic expectations
