What is Trigger Finger/Thumb?

Stenosing tenosynovitis is most commonly known as "trigger finger" or "trigger thumb". With the help of pulleys, tendons glide back and forth easily allowing you to bend and straighten your finger. When the pulleys become too thick, the tendon can no longer glide easily through resulting in trigger finger/thumb.
