Reconstructive Surgery
Reconstructive surgery focuses on improving the function and appearance of abnormal body structures. It corrects two types of imperfections:

Congenital deformities (birth defects)
Acquired deformities caused by injury, trauma, infection, tumors, disease or aging
Some reconstructive procedures use techniques that are often thought of as "cosmetic." For example, eyelid surgery to correct droopy eyelids not only improves your appearance, it can prevent the excess skin from blocking your field of vision.

Plastic Surgery Associates performs a number of reconstructive procedures, including:

Breast Reconstruction
Skin Cancer Treatment
Cleft Lip & Palate Surgery
Burn Reconstruction

Preparing for your reconstructive procedure
You’ll want to discuss all the details of your procedure with your doctor during your personal consultation. It’s important to communicate your expectations and get all of your questions answered in advance. Your doctor will tell you how to best prepare for the procedure. This may include guidelines for which medications and vitamins to avoid or take before surgery.

Depending on the procedure performed, you may need to arrange for someone to drive you home after surgery. As an alternative, you could arrange to stay overnight in the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel, located in the same building as our offices. For more information, read about our facilities and location.
