What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?

BOTOX® Cosmetic (BOTOX®) is a nerve impulse blocker that weakens a given muscle enough to reduce overlying wrinkles. Because it can be used very selectively, BOTOX® can “relax” wrinkles without interfering with normal functions, such as smiling or blinking.

Unlike surgical procedures, BOTOX® is reversible, with each treatment lasting around four to six months. Repeated injections are needed to maintain the desired appearance.
