In March of this year, the American Society of Plastic Surgeons launched a new informational website www.breastimplantsafety.org. This website intends to serve as an authoritative resource to aid in PATIENT EDUCATION and assist in BREAST IMPLANT CHOICE. While offering the pros and cons of FDA approved saline breast implants, the site also reviews the benefits and risks of the new silicone implants that are currently in the second stage of study.
