Happy Flashback Friday, West Michigan!
For nearly 30 years Plastic Surgery Associates has called the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel home. We love being at the heart of downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan in this historic landmark! Did you know the Amway was originally called The Pantlind Hotel, founded in 1913? Today, visitors enter through valet entrance on Pearl St., but you can still see what remains of the Pantlind entrance off Monroe St. The Pantlind Wing still stands with beautiful fountains, chandeliers, and one of the world’s largest gold leaf ceilings. Its distinguished history paved the way for the current Amway Grand Plaza Hotel.
By 1925, the Pantlind was rightfully rated as “One of the Ten Finest Hotels in America.” It was also an integral part of the West Michigan renaissance and extensively renovated in 1981 with the addition of the Glass Tower, contributing to our city’s growing skyline of the business and entertainment district.
Our office is tucked away in the Exhibitor’s Building, adjacent to the Amway Grand Plaza Hotel. Visitors to the hotel are often unaware that this building holds offices, our practice, and our fully accredited surgical facility on the sixth floor which means ultimate patient privacy.
Patients tell us they love the privacy and luxury of visiting us in the historic hotel – no one will know whether you are grabbing coffee at Starbucks downstairs, shopping at Boutique Emmanuel, or heading to our office for a consultation.
For out of town guests, our location offers easy access to overnight accommodations without leaving the building. Other downtown amenities like the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Van Andel Arena, and more are all within walking distance of the hotel.
